Description: The rainbow mountains of Peru, situated at 17,100 feet were only discovered in 2015! During a Baja Llama expedition in 2018, our founder Sean and Marketing Manager Bianca explored this new wonder in search of excitement. Print: As part of our Peruvian Treasures Collection, we wanted to highlight the incredible rainbow mountains. Situated just south of the famous Incan City of Cusco and formed over milenia these rainbow-colored mountains are as stunning in real life as pur print. Made from quartzose, sandstone, and marls, rich in calcium carbonate; the red is due to claystone (iron) and clays among other minerals and deposits that give these mountains their vivid and distinct hues. The digital watercolor effect was done in-house and is absolutely beautiful.
